Left Over Jewels

When ever I make pastry there is always some left over. I hate waste. It must be the Scot in me. I make these with the scraps and bake them with the main event. They are just a perfect little mouthful. Little Jam Tarts with creme fraiche.

Those look gorgeous - and beautifully lit! I like to make that recipe from HTE, periwinkles, where you roll up the scraps of pastry with honey, cinnamon, brown sugar...definitely worth making extra for!

I love jam tarts. My mum used to do the exact same thing when making quiche, I used to help her make the jam tarts.

Those jam tarts are taking me a few years back. I used to enjoy baking them when I was a youngster.

I'd love to taste just one wee one as I don't remember the last time I had one.
